Yala Peak Climbing

Mt. Yala is located in the Lantang Himal Region of Nepal. It is one of the easiest trekking peak to climb and often climbed along with its neighbor Naya Kanga, the summit has uninterrupted spectacular view of Langtang Lirung, Lenpo Gang, Dorhe Lakpa (6966m) and the mighty Shishapangma (8013m) which is mae up of three sister peaks quite similar in hights with two pinnacles with their respective height of 8008m and 7970m, sit 200m and 400m to the northwest of the main peak. Since it lies very close to the Tibetan border you also get some amazing views into tibet. This peak is usually climbed in two days from Kyanjn Gompa with a high camp at Yala Kharka but it is also possible to do it in a single long day with pre-dawn  start and good acclimatisation. This peak is great choice for those who have few people and without experiencing too much technical difficulty.

DAY 01   Arrival in Kathmandu (1320m).
Arrival in Kathmandu. You’ll meet guide at airport and taken to your hotel. If  time allows you will have time to visit some Buddhist and Hindu temples and shrines reflecting local traditions. Overnight in Hotel(D)
DAY 02  Preparation day in Kathamndu
Half day Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Valley and  in the afternoon our guide will brief you and help you sort out all the requires equipments for the trip. You can have question and answer session with our staff if you have any confusion or need any information about the trip. O/N Hotel (B)
DAY 03  Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m) 8-9 hrs
After morning breakfast we drive out along the north-western hills of Kathmandu. Enjoy the Himlayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the terraced fields and rustic villages. Take Lunch at the Trishuli Bazar before continuing further to  Dhunche. From Dhunche, we descent down to Syabrubesi. Hotel (B,L,D)
DAY 04  Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m) 6 hrs
This is our first day of trekking today.  Follow the Langtang Khola River. Pass through the dense forests.   Cross several suspension bridges. We also pass by a tea houses.  The trail goes up and down but it's not that challenging. Teahouse (B,L,D)
DAY 05  Trek to Langtang village (3,430m) 6/7 hr
After taking morning tea, we embark our second day of the journey. Our trail continues along dense forests. After making a steady climb up through the valley, we leave the tree line behind us. Enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung.  Pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. (B,L,D)
DAY 06  Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m) 3-1/2 hr
After taking morning tea and breakfast, we get out of the village and pass on through yak pastures.  Also pass the largest mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayers written on them. The prayers written on the mani wall is supposed to be blown away by the wind.  Cross several of the wooden bridges.  Since, we are really getting into the high altitudes, you might start feeling the thin air. Gompa. Kanjin Gompa is surrounded by the Himalayas all around. You can take a walk around Kanjin Gompa enjoying the views, glaciers, icefalls, birds and yaks. Tea house (B,L,D)
DAY 07 Rest and exploration day at Kyangjin Gompa 
You can visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri (4350m), directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peaks. Teahouse (BLD)
DAY 08 Trek to Yak Kharka. 5hr
The early part of the trail moves along the leveled path till Marku and then leaving Langtang Khola you trek an ascending path all the way to Yak Kharka. The views you can enjoy are of Ganchenpo, Naya Kang and others. Camping (BLD)
DAY 09 Trek to Yala Base Camp. 4-5hr
To reach Yala Base Camp you trek along the rocky glacier trail. During this trek you are accompanied by the views of Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Yala peak and others. Camping (BLD)
DAY 10 Summit Yala peak and back to Yak Kharka. 8hr
Today you’ll start early morning with our climbing sherpa. You will be reaching summit at around 6 of morning. From the summit of Yala peak, you will be stunned by the panoramic views of Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Langtang Lirung and many Tibetan mountains. Camping (BLD) DAY 11 Trek to Kyangjin Gompa. 4hr You trek descending path all the way to Kyangjin Gompa. The views you can enjoy are of Ganchenpo, Naya Kang and others. Teahouse (BLD)
Day 12 Trek to Lama Hotel . 5-6 hr
From Kyangjin you retrace your route, following the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghora Tabela. After lunch you continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel. Teahouse (BLD)
DAY 13 Trek to Syabru Besi via Sherpa Gaon. 5hr
The upper part of the trail is more beautiful for the panoramic views of the mountains and green hills. This path is broader and remains sunny through the different Shepra and Tamang villages. The first half of the trail is gradually down and then the trail does a steep descent to the Syabru Besi (1600m.). From here, there was a project called the Chilime Power Plant. The main inhabitants belong to Tamang community and they have adopted theTibetan lifestyle.
DAY 14 Drive from Syabru Besi to Kathmandu. 8-9 hr
DAY 15 Farewell
You are saying good bye to the mountains as your journey in Nepal comes to an end today! We hope you enjoyed the trek, and are sure you will be back trekking somewhere in the Himalaya again. Approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight a representative from Ramdung Expedition will take you to the airport. Farewell and departure.
