Mardi Himal is the name given long rising ridge and its summit from south-westerly lower slope of Mount Machhapuchhare or Fishtail, famous triangular skyline that is seen from the Phewa Lake at Pokhara. Mardi Himal trekking and climbing is a short colorful foray into the Annapurna region. The trail winds through patchwork valleys, dense mossy forests and past waterfalls where you can stop to cool yourself. Around every corner is a tantalizing glimpse of the high mountains, whole horizons of which will be revealed to you as you reach the high points of your trek.
Mardi Himal trekking and climbing is one of the off the bitten eco-tourism based trekking destinations in Nepal offering opportunity to escape Nepal’s tourist trails to venture in to the deep forests and roam the high alpine pastures that flank the Annapurna ranges. Some villages are visited on the last days of the trek and these receive few visitors and retain much of their traditional charm. The trails we follow are not well used sometimes hard to identify. This trek passes through dense forest, raging rivers and high altitude camp at 4,100m from where the most amazing close quarter views of 5 of the 14 highest mountains in the world are seen in clear day.
